Sophomore Faysal Ibrahim ran the second fastest 5K in school history, at 15:30, at the MHC Midseason meet at Clackamas Community College.
His score is only five seconds behind the school record of 15:24.9, which was set last fall by his older brother Farhan Ibrahim.
Faysal isn’t the only one doing well and setting new PRs, with nearly the entire varsity team setting new records for themselves. Sophomore Abdi Sunchez was able to get a time of 18:27 while sophomore Nathan Cummingham got a time of 18:56, junior Max Perry got a time of 19:15, senior Justin Lino got a time of 19:45, senior Omar Mohamed got a 19:58, senior Chris Jimenez with a time of 20:16 and freshman Eli Todd with a time of 20:22.
“Most people show up every day, we work hard.” said Lino, “I try to encourage people to do the best that they can.”
