Teachers who would like to have LanSchool installed on their computer should enter a technology work order.
In a perfect world, students would always do exactly what is expected when using the computer. Unfortunately that is not always the case. LanSchool is a program that can be installed on teacher computers that allows them to see students activity on the computer while at school and connected to wifi.
Lanschool appears in the hidden icons area on the taskbar. Click the roof-top icon to reveal program icons that are running in the background. LanSchool is the one selected here. (green and white dots in a circle)
Click the LanSchool icon to activate the program. If you have other windows open, it may activate behind them. Minimize the other windows to see the Lanschool window.
Please note that LanSchool must be installed on teacher devices by the Technology Department through a work order request.
To load student screens, click the arrows in the upper right corner of the LanSchool window, then Class List, then Load Dynamic Class List... When changing classes, dismiss the current class (above Load) and then load the next class.
Another way is to select Administer from the menu options, then One to One, Load Dynamic Class List... and select the desired class from the list that appears.
Teachers without students in PowerSchool
Many teachers will not have students assigned to them in PowerSchool but will need to see their computer activity. Related arts, PE, and special education teachers can use Lanschool by:
Select Administer
One to One
Manage Class Lists
Student Machine Name
Select the students
Click add and then Save or Save As
Name the class and pay attention to where the file is saved.
To open the saved class repeat the above steps but choose Load class list instead of Manage class list.
To view the names of your classes, use your mouse to grab the small line in between Class Name and Period and drag it to the right so the entire name shows
