This program is for students in elementary school. PebbleGo and PebbleGo Next are digital collections that are perfect for introducing students to the research process. Early elementary students use Pebble Go and upper elementary students use Pebble Go Next. Check with your Technology Integration Coach for the Username and Password for your school.
Teachers can assign group research projects where students work together to explore a topic. Each group member can focus on a different aspect of the topic and then collaborate on a final presentation.
Students can use the information they gather to create their own stories, comics, multimedia presentations, which allows them to express their creativity.
After learning about a topic, students can engage in creative activities' like drawing, painting, or building models to represent what they've learned.
Students can use Pebble Go to compare and contrast different topics or elements within a subject area, which encourages critical thinking and analysis.
All students and teachers access PebbleGo from the Classlink launchpad. Upon entering PebbleGo the first time, users may be prompted to enter a username and password. These are unique to each building. Reach out to the Technology Integration Coach assigned to your building to get these.
PebbleGo is organized into categories that include Animals, Science, Biographies, Social Studies, and Health. The search bar allows students to find information without browsing. All content is read aloud to students making this great for independent work.
Each page is divided into smaller chunks of information to help students recognize text features and stay organized. The breadcrumb trail above the content helps with navigating the site. Teachers can also use the link near the search bar to share pages with students directly through Google Classroom, OneNote Class Notebooks, or other LMS.
The interface for PebbleGo Next is less juvenile in appearance and has different categories that are more aligned with upper elementary school students. The search and read-aloud elements work the same as in PebbleGo.
One element of PebbleGo and Next is the features shown at the bottom of a page. Students can see the information in article form, access additional activities, watch videos (when available) and use the Cite button to acknowledge their source of information.
