IXL

IXL is a digital learning platform that provides comprehensive, standards practice that is aligned to content for mathematics and language arts. The program is adaptive to student responses and provides an individualized learning path for each student who interacts with the program.

IXL is accessed via ClassLink Launchpad for Teachers and Students.

Student Side of IXL

The Learning tab for students shows Recommendations, Diagnostics, Math and Language Arts, TN Standards, and Awards.

Recommendations - The personal recommendations page will show students recommended skill practice items according to their answers on the diagnostic assessment.

Diagnostic - The diagnostic center is where a student will complete about 120 questions pertaining to Math and Language Arts and quickly pinpoints student levels. It gives up to the minute insights on your students' knowledge and points you to the specific skills that will help each student grow. It works seamlessly with the IXL curriculum and Analytics to make learning deeply personal. IXL's recommendation is that students work in 10 minute increments on the diagnostic test until it is completed.

Math or Language Arts - Students have the option in the Learning tab to choose a specific subject (Math or Language Arts) and practice a specific skill.

TN Standards - To select skills that are tied to a specific standard, a student must click on the "TN Standards" tab. The student will locate the standard of focus and then click on the skills under the specific standard.

Awards - The Awards section shows students their progress on IXL and any awards that they may have earned.

The Analytics tab for students shows Usage, Trouble Spots, Scores, Questions, and Progress.

Usage - The Usage tab tells how many questions the student answered, time spent practicing, and progress made on skills.

Trouble Spots - The Trouble Spots shows questions within each skill the student has struggled with.

Scores - Scores shows usage information and the SmartScore for each skill.

Questions - Questions show progress on all questions within a specific skill.

Progress - The Progress tab allows students to view score improvement on a specific skill.
