Overall Goals
Improve fellows’ data analysis/appreciation and scholarly writing skills.
Support fellows’ capacity to concisely and clearly write up their qualitative and quantitative results.
Help fellows develop skills in the use of prose, visual and tabular data presentation methods.
Enhance fellows’ skills in the use of existing literature in interpreting their results.
Improve fellows’ understanding of peer review and publication processes.
Support fellows to write up the ‘Discussion’, ‘Conclusions’, ‘Summary’ and ‘Recommendations’ sections of their thesis.
Duration
FOUR [4] weeks – 126 hours of activities
Candidates shall be expected to do a lot of practical work on their theses/ dissertations during the period.
Output
A ‘virtually-ready’ thesis/dissertation/manuscript at the end of JAS 3.
A thesis/dissertation draft for further input from fellows’ supervisors.
Fellows knowledgeable about peer-reviewed and scholarly publishing.
