Caroline Kabiru is a Research Scientist and a Prgram Leader at the African Population and Health Research Center. She joined the Center in 2007 as a post-doctoral fellow. Prior to joining APHRC, she completed a short-term consultancy with Urban Harvest, an initiative of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR). She has previously worked as an instructor at the Georgia Perimeter College in Atlanta, Georgia and as a post-doctoral fellow in the Institute of Gerontology at the University of Georgia. Caroline obtained her PhD in Health Promotion and Behavior from the University of Georgia (US) in 2005. Her doctoral thesis focused on the correlates of condom use among high school students in Nairobi Kenya. Caroline also holds a Master's in Public Health from the University of North Carolina (US) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health Science from the University of Georgia. Her interests include adolescent health, sexual and reproductive health, environmental health, and, more recently, research capacity strengthening.
