Welcome to the Training Resources section, where you can access materials from the Joint Advanced Seminars (JAS) of CARTA. The JAS series is a core component of CARTA’s innovative doctoral training program, designed to equip CARTA Fellows with essential research skills, foster collaboration, and build lasting networks of peers and mentors.
Each cohort of CARTA Fellows participates in four annual seminars that build upon one another to provide a comprehensive training experience:
JAS 1: Focuses on building critical thinking, technical research skills, and foundational knowledge across various disciplines.
JAS 2: Introduces advanced data management and analysis, with hands-on experience using real research data.
JAS 3: Emphasizes scientific writing, data presentation, and dissertation development, preparing fellows to communicate their research effectively.
JAS 4: Concentrates on professional development, including grant writing, course development, and mentorship.
