Mission and Activities of the Consortium of CARTA Libraries

Our Mission

1. To encourage advanced research work amongst academics and researchers through an e-platform for the sharing of data, results and knowledge gained from research, first amongst partner institutions and ultimately to include other universities and institutions in Africa.

2. To build the capacity of libraries and librarians to strengthen research and learning in Africa

In pursuance of the Consortium for CARTA Libraries' mission, the following objectives are necessary:

1. To facilitate the compilation and digitization of published and unpublished research works.

2. To develop an electronic platform for the sharing of data results and knowledge gained from research.

3. To encourage collaboration between and among academics and researchers in CARTA institutions.

Activities

• Capacity building;

• Advocacy for library sustainability;

• Facilitating technical support;

• Group acquisition; and

• Sharing of E-resources.
