Last Update: July 21, 2025
Planners work to design vibrant communities where people want to live.
The Utah Chapter of the American Planning Association (APA Utah) is a non-profit professional organization for planners throughout the state, encompassing all planning disciplines.
Our organization is dedicated to promoting good planning principles to create a better future for Utah.
APA Utah strives to offer various educational opportunities for professional planners, citizen planners, and everyone involved in shaping our communities.
APA Utah has undertaken a thoughtful and strategic governance restructuring process to improve board functionality, clarify roles and responsibilities, and align with nonprofit best practices and APA national standards. The multi-phase effort has included updates to board composition, a comprehensive bylaws review, and the development of governance plans in collaboration with a governance specialist.
