Plot & Plan Engagement Group
Purpose:
The Plot & Plan Engagement Group brings together planners interested in reading, reflection, and discussion around planning-related literature. The group provides a casual and welcoming space to explore books, articles, and media that touch on topics such as urbanism, rural planning, equity, sustainability, leadership, and the future of the profession. Discussions aim to foster learning, dialogue, and connection across the APA Utah community.
Membership:
Open to all APA Utah members. There is no limit to the number of participants.
Leadership:
Each group will have at least one designated Engagement Group Lead. Leads are volunteers who coordinate group activities and serve as a liaison to the APA Utah Board.
Responsibilities of the Engagement Group Lead:
Select or facilitate the selection of books or media for group discussion.
Plan and host at least one virtual meeting per quarter.
Submit a brief written summary report to the Board after each meeting or event.
Advocate for the group’s needs and interests to the APA Utah Board.
Propose ideas or resources that support member engagement and APA Utah’s mission.
Support from APA Utah:
APA Utah will support engagement groups by:
Publicizing events and meetings.
Providing technical support for virtual gatherings.
Offering guidance from the board liaison and Executive Manager.
Allocating budget funds when feasible and approved.
