Soror MarQuisia Johnson, Basileus
Greetings Sorors!
What a weekend we had in Houston at the 90th South Central Regional Conference! Tau Rho Omega showed up and showed out in GRAND fashion! As the South Central Region Olivia Pope, I am proud to say that our first in-person conference in 3 years was a success. Thanks to the 85 chapter members who registered and attended either virtually or in Houston.
Kudos to our own Soror Gwendolyn Kimble who was elected to be the next South Central Representative to the International Nominating Committee! In addition, she was awarded "Basileus of the Year" at the conference. Congratulations and thank you for representing Tau Rho Omega well!!! Our very own Chaplain, Soror Stephanie Hall also graced the dais and provided the Meditation for the Second Plenary. She also was a special guest to introduce Madam Regional Director Soror Joya T. Hayes and Grammy winning Gospel recording artist Soror Yolanda Adams. Special recognition goes to Soror Mina LaGrange for leading the South Central Regional Corporate Sponsors committee who secured over $120,000 in sponsorships for the 90th SCRC. Tau Rho Omega was on fire!!!
I am excited to see each of you at the chapter meeting in your "Pretty Pink with Pearls". Let's continue to be safe while we gather together to handle business and fellowship with one another. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we help each other pursue excellence. Continue to be safe and be blessed!

“Vision of Excellence”
“Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.”- Luke 6:38 AM
Greetings Sensational Sorors (Reignited from SCRC),
OUR STANDARDS
The Standards Committee is busy on the “work” of Tau Rho even as we paused for our South Central Regional Conference.
We are working on organizing Listening Rounds, and our first official activity will be at our Chapter Retreat.
The mini-lesson on Chapter Operations is just about complete (just reviewing and making final edits). We will secure a date to present the information if we are unable to share at Chapter Retreat.
Lastly, for now, is the 2023 - 2026 Strategic Plan. Hopefully, everyone has had an opportunity to review the 2019 - 2022 Strategic Plan in the Standards folder in Wild Apricot. If not, it is attached for your convenience.
Tau Rho Omega Chapt Strategic Planning 2019
The next order of business is the appointment of the Strategic Planning Committee members. Our goal is to begin the work on the 2023 - 2026 Strategic Plan. The Chapter Self-Assessment taken from the National Standards Resource Manual was open for completion on March 6 - 12; however, we did not receive many responses. Please take a moment this week, closing on March 26, to complete the survey below. The committee would like to hear from you, so that we can use the information, in conjunction with the 2021 TRO Survey Results, to create a comprehensive, focused plan. Please and thank you.
We are TRO…the best Chapter in the Metroplex!
OUR WOMEN OF PEARLS COMMUNITY ACTION FOUNDATION
Due to Spring Break for some and Regional Conference for others, our next executive board meeting is scheduled for March 24, 2022 at 6:30 PM.
As a reminder, we have our first draft of the calendar of events. The first session ~ Foundations 101 ~ is tentatively scheduled for April.
If there is a need to use the Foundation’s status, please reach out to a Board member. If your employer makes charitable contributions to nonprofits, please inquire about their willingness to donate.

We also have additional fundraising opportunities, such as Kroger Rewards, Tom Thumb Rewards, and Brunching with the Sorors. For Kroger and Tom Thumb, look for Women of Pearls Community Action Foundation. Let’s make some money, Sorors!
And, lastly, SHOW ME THE MONEY!!! Please make sure to pay your WOP dues. The amount is $25.00 plus the $1.01 service fee.
