Soror MarQuisia Johnson, Basileus
Greetings Sorors!
As this year begins to wind down, I am reflecting on all that has been accomplished and looking forward to all that we have planned for the future. Once again, Tau Rho Omega showed that we are a premier chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. by hosting the 3rd Annual Fit and Fabulous Health and Wellness Expo. Thank you Soror Terilyn, Soror Jeretha and the entire committee for an inspiring, motivating, educational and absolutely FABULOUS event! The energy that was shown in planning and executing the expo, demonstrates what it means to be a part of the TENACIOUS Tau Rho Omega chapter.
Updates have been made to the proposed budgets for 2023 based upon the feedback received. The proposed budgets are posted in Wild Apricot for your review. Voting will take place at our upcoming meeting so that planning for next year can begin.
Also, stay tuned for information regarding our chapter awards and end of the year celebrations. I am excited for us to share some dedicated time to have fun, fellowship and strengthen our bonds of sisterhood.
Take care of yourselves sorors and if you have not already make sure that you SOAR to the polls and vote.
Serving With A Smile,

“Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use[when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.”

Greetings Tenacious Tau Rho Omega Sorors,
OUR STANDARDS
The 2023-2026 Strategic Plan was presented during the October Chapter meeting. I have only collected a few responses for consideration. They are not goals, but good strategies that could be addressed by committees such as technology and sisterly relations. The plan will be brought to the body for vote during our December chapter meeting. Thank you so much for your patience and dedication to TRO.
Due to a scheduling conflict, the mini lesson for the electronic folder system (the target audience is eBoard and committee leads) is set for November 21st at 6:00 PM. If you are unable to spend an hour with us, the meeting will be recorded for your convenience. An email has been shared with those that are to be in attendance.
A tentative plan of work to move us through the end of 2022 and 2023 was shared with the Executive Board. Topics on the tentative plan of work are Love Language, Crucial Conversations, Let’s Talk Soror Code of Ethics, Lemon Squeezes the Sequel, and Strengthening the Bonds of Sisterhood. We are also working through the logistics of how and where the activities will be held (i.e. Zoom or in person). Stay tuned.
As a friendly reminder on our journey to compliance, we are going to go…go slow…but, go…correctly.
Yours in Sisterly Service,
Soror Courtney J. Washington, 2nd Anti-Basileus
