Soror MarQuisia Johnson, Basileus
Greetings Sorors!
Time flies when you are having fun! We are 6 months into the H.O.P.E. administration and I am very proud of the work that the "Tenacious" Tau Rho Omega chapter has done. We have been busy in our communities providing scholarships & service to all mankind and we have taken out time to enjoy each other during our Membership & Sisterly Relations activities. As we wrap up the first half of the year, please be reminded that we will take a break collectively as a chapter during the month of July. Only the Chapter Retreat & Chapter History Book Committees will meet during the month of July. Please take this time to rest and rejuvenate yourselves as we prepare for our new Supreme Basileus and her new administration.
Our South Central Region 2020 and 2021 Diamond, Pearl, Golden, Silver Honorees Celebration is Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas. We are honoring sorors who were unable to celebrate face-to-face at the 2020 and 2021 regional conferences due to COVID restrictions. The last day to register as an honoree or an attendee is Friday, June 10, 2022. Let's support our own Silver Soror Carolyn Gilleylen who is serving as the Co-Chairman for this event.
Continue to pray for each other and love on one another. We are stronger together...especially now that we are back in-person. This week, I urge you to reach out to a soror that you haven't seen in a while via email, text or phone call and give them an encouraging word. Be safe and be blessed!

“Vision of Excellence”
“Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.”- Luke 6:38 AM
Greetings Tenacious Tau Rho Omega Sorors,
Thank you in advance for taking time to read my sisterly updates below.
OUR STANDARDS
The Standards committee met on May 16, 2022. We, along with the Strategic Planning committee, began the work on the Strategic Plan. Again, the goal is to roll out the entire plan in September or October. Wish us luck!
The Chapter Operations session was held on May 28, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Many thanks to the technology crew for supporting us. A survey for feedback is below.
The Standards committee is also planning a virtual training for all program chairs and committee leaders regarding the electronic folder system. Stay tuned for a date and time for the session.
Our first in-person activity will be at our Chapter Retreat: Always Bet on Pink and Green in August. It is our hope that it is impactful, brings understanding, and reminds us that we have a sensational sisterhood.
As a friendly reminder on our journey to compliance, we are going to go…go slow…but, go. And, as we slowly go, there will be some type of teaching piece along the way, as needed.
OUR WOMEN OF PEARLS COMMUNITY ACTION FOUNDATION
On May 11, the executive board met to debrief the first session, discuss the next session, create a platform to share information, discuss the standard operation guidelines, discuss the need for a social media specialist, and to celebrate collaborative fundraisers. Our next big collaborative fundraiser is Sneakers 4 Service with Rho Nu Lambda’s foundation.
If you are interested in signing up for mini Pearls, please use the link below to complete the form. As a reminder, Soror Kathy Joubert Ross is the lead.
