Soror MarQuisia Johnson, Basileus
Greetings Sorors!
The 70th Boule is fast approaching and registration closes in a few weeks. I encourage you to register for the South Central Regional Boule Gala which will be held on Wednesday, July 13. It will be a night to remember!
On May 14, I proudly represented the TENACIOUS Tau Rho Omega chapter as we welcomed a new chapter to the DFW Metroplex. Pearls of Sisterhood and Service Interest Group is now the Alpha Beta Iota Omega chapter! Thank you to the sorors who were present to help celebrate the chapter chartering.
We are adding another 20 rooms to the room block for chapter retreat. Those sorors who are currently registered will have first priority to access the link to the room block. Registration for chapter retreat will be open until June 1st via Wild Apricot or you may pay by cash or check at the May chapter meeting.
Continue to pray for each other and love on one another. We are stronger together...especially now that we are back in-person. This week, I urge you to reach out to a soror that you haven't seen in a while via email, text or phone call and give them an encouraging word. Be safe and be blessed!

“Vision of Excellence”
“Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.”- Luke 6:38 AM

Greetings Tenacious Tau Rho Omega Sorors,
OUR STANDARDS
The Chapter Operations session scheduled for May 14 at 10:00 AM was postponed due to an unforeseen circumstance. Many thanks to the technology crew for being ready to support us. We hope to get the session rescheduled as soon as possible. Thank you for understanding.
The Standards committee will meet on May 16. We, along with the Strategic Planning committee, will begin the work on the Strategic Plan. Again, the goal is to roll out the entire plan in September or October. Wish us luck!
Our first in-person activity will be at our Chapter Retreat in August. It is our hope that it is impactful, brings understanding, and reminds us that we have a sensational sisterhood.
As a friendly reminder on our journey to compliance, we are going to go…go slow…but, go. And, as we slowly go, there will be some type of teaching piece along the way, as needed.
OUR WOMEN OF PEARLS COMMUNITY ACTION FOUNDATION
On April 30th, we hosted our first TRO informational session/meeting in the form of a Sip and Chew entitled Foundation 101 and also rolled out the Signature Program. Please take a moment to complete the survey (YAY, survey!) below. Also, a WOP mini Pearls sign up form and a copy of the Chapter and Foundation Fundamentals Guidelines are attached below.

As a point of clarification, per WOP bylaws, we are only required to hold four meetings a year. What we are trying to accomplish in those meetings is to make them as informative and engaging as possible. The next meeting/informational session is scheduled for June. Stay tuned.
On May 11, the executive board met to debrief the first session, discuss the next session, create a platform to share information, discuss the standard operation guidelines, discuss the need for a social media specialist, and to celebrate collaborative fundraisers.
If there is a need to use the Foundation’s status, please reach out to a Board member. If your employer makes charitable contributions to nonprofits, please inquire about their willingness to donate.

When shopping on Amazon, consider using this Amazon Smile Link: https://smile.amazon.com/ch/83-0985439, so that the WOP Foundation may receive a portion of the proceeds.
We also have additional fundraising opportunities, such as Kroger Rewards, Tom Thumb Rewards. For Kroger and Tom Thumb, look for Women of Pearls Community Action Foundation. Let’s make some money, Sorors!
And, lastly, SHOW ME THE MONEY!!! Please make sure to pay your WOP dues. The amount is $25.00 plus the $1.01 service fee.
