Soror MarQuisia Johnson, Basileus
Greetings Sorors!
It has been exactly 2 years since we have had a full in-person chapter business meeting. In March 2020, we had to social distance from each other and quickly pivot to virtual meetings, activities and events. Zoom, WebEx, and GroupMe became our primary means of communication and fellowship. And we got comfortable with only dressing from the waist up. But time brings about a change!!!
I am pleased to announce that beginning in March we will return to in person chapter meetings! Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes earlier than normal for our new check-in process. All sorors must be fully vaccinated and fill out the Covid Waiver form. Temperature checks will be taken at the door and masks will be required. There will be NO virtual option for the March chapter meeting. Due to our Covid Protocols, children will NOT be allowed to attend the meetings at this time. Chapter pictures will be taken immediately following our chapter business meeting.
As we transition back to in person meetings, activities and events, I thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we help each other pursue excellence. Continue to be safe and be blessed!

“Vision of Excellence”
“Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.”- Luke 6:38 AM
MARCH IS NATIONAL NUTRITION MONTH

Greetings Sensational Sorors,
OUR STANDARDS
I am super pumped to officially introduce the Standards Committee: Soror MarQuisia Johnson, Madam Basileus; Soror Nicole Harris, Madam 1st; Soror Michelle Hill, Madam Membership Chair; Soror Stephanie Hall, Madam “First Lady” Chaplain; Soror Cheryl Corbin, Member; and me, Madam 2nd and Chair. We are busy, busy, busy on the “work” of Tau Rho! Trust, it is a labor of love for your Standards Committee.
As promised, we are working on organizing Listening Rounds. Our first activity will be at our Chapter Retreat. It is our hope that it will be informative as well as engaging.
Another order of business is a mini-lesson on Chapter Operations. We are finalizing a powerpoint presentation with relevant information about our beloved Sorority and Chapter, and we are looking to secure a date if the information is not shared at Chapter Retreat. Stay tuned.
Lastly, for now, is the 2023 - 2026 Strategic Plan. Hopefully, everyone has had an opportunity to review the 2019 - 2022 Strategic Plan in the Standards folder in Wild Apricot. If not, it is attached for your convenience.
Tau Rho Omega Chapt Strategic Planning 2019
The next order of business is the appointment of the Strategic Planning Committee members. Our goal is to begin the work on the 2023 - 2026 Strategic Plan. The survey specific to Chapter operations (Chapter Self-Assessment taken from the National Standards Resource Manual) is open for completion on March 6 - 12. Please take a moment during that timeframe to complete the survey below, so that the committee can use the information, in conjunction with the 2021 TRO Survey Results, to create a comprehensive, focused plan. Please and thank you.
We are TRO…the best Chapter in the Metroplex!
OUR WOMEN OF PEARLS COMMUNITY ACTION FOUNDATION
Due to Spring Break for some and Regional Conference for others, our next executive board meeting is scheduled for March 24, 2022 at 6:30 PM.
As a reminder, we have our first draft of the calendar of events. The first session ~ Foundations 101 ~ is tentatively scheduled for April.
If there is a need to use the Foundation’s status, please reach out to a Board member. If your employer makes charitable contributions to nonprofits, please inquire about their willingness to donate.
