Soror MarQuisia Johnson, Basileus
Greetings Sorors!
Kudos to Soror Carolyn Gilleylen and all Tau Rho Omega sorors who assisted with the amazing production of the 2020/2021 Diamond, Pearl, Golden, Silver Honoree Luncheon! It was a magnificent way to celebrate those who have achieved these significant milestones of membership in our beloved sorority. Congratulations again to all honorees from Tau Rho Omega chapter.
Congratulations to Sorors Connie Burks, Pam Pringle, Stephanie Hall, Shupon Mitchell, Terilyn Scott-Winful, Letisha Hardy, and Traci Brooks for being selected to represent Tau Rho Omega chapter at the Public Reception for our incoming Supreme Basileus Soror Danette Anthony Reed! These sorors are the top sellers for our Double Good Popcorn fundraiser and are being rewarded with a seat at the Tau Rho Omega table on Saturday, August 20. The Public Reception will be held at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas and begins at 6pm.
The Looking Glass will be on hiatus until the first Sunday in August. As we wrap up the first half of the year, please be reminded that we will take a break collectively as a chapter during the month of July. Only the Chapter Retreat & Chapter History Book Committees will meet during the month of July. Please take this time to rest and rejuvenate yourselves as we prepare for our new Supreme Basileus and her new administration.
Continue to pray for each other and love on one another. Be safe and be blessed!

Greetings!!
WE DID IT! Exemplifying Excellence through Sustainable Service programs is coming to a beautiful end this month. I’m extremely proud of the impactful service projects TRO has completed over the past 4 years. So, we are ready to disembark this Excellence train and FLY HIGH with our new programs in August.
Target 3: Economic Legacy-Operation AKA Assist in partnership with Target 1: HBCU for Life committee hosted its 3rd Annual Backpacks and School Supplies Drive on Saturday, June 11th at Macedonia C.A.R.E. Center. With 108 participants we exceeded our goal of 100 backpacks and collected 178 backpacks filled with school supplies!!! What a blessing! Brighter Tomorrow’s Domestic Violence Shelter representatives were in attendance and were overwhelmed with the donations. After the donation, 410 Line Dancers led us to an evening of learning the latest line dances and DJ ALEXX closed the evening out with a dance party. This was an AMAZING and SUCCESSFUL event.
Thank you, Sorors Shupon Mitchell- Operation AKA Assist Chairman, Pam Turner- Target 3 Chairman, Raquel Patton-Target 1 Chairman, and the entire Operation AKA Assist and HBCU for Life committee members for a JOB WELL!
Target 4: The ARTS! hosted Painting with a Twist Night on Friday, June 17th PWAT Richardson. We had a great evening of laughter, bonding, and creating our masterpieces. Thank you, Sorors Chazlee Jackson and Stacy Thornton for a fun-filled event.

“Vision of Excellence”
“Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.”- Luke 6:38 AM

OUR STANDARDS
The Standards/Strategic Planning committee will meet on June 20 to add the finishing touches to the 2023 - 2026 Strategic Plan. Again, the goal is to roll out the entire plan in September or October. Thank you for your feedback and patience.
Last call for your feedback on the Chapter Operations: The Basics session held on May 28, 2022 at 10:00 AM. A survey for feedback is below.
As shared during Chapter meeting, the Standards committee is also planning a virtual training for all program chairs and committee leaders regarding the electronic folder system. Stay tuned for a date and time for the session.
Our first in-person activity will be at our Chapter Retreat: Always Bet on Pink and Green in August. It is our hope that it is impactful, brings understanding, and reminds us that we have a sensational sisterhood.
As a friendly reminder on our journey to compliance, we are going to go…go slow…but, go…correctly. And, as we slowly go, there will be some type of teaching piece along the way, as needed.
OUR WOMEN OF PEARLS COMMUNITY ACTION FOUNDATION
The next general meeting/informational session is scheduled for June 26, 2022 at 3:00 PM. Be on the lookout in Wild Apricot and on social media for specific details.
The next fundraisers in partnership with Tau Rho Omega are BJs and Sneakers 4 Service.
If you are interested in signing up for mini Pearls, please use the link below to complete the form. As a reminder, Soror Kathy Joubert Ross is the lead.
