Soror MarQuisia Johnson, Basileus
Greetings Sorors!
As the summer heat begins to embrace us, June is set to be an exciting and eventful month filled with a myriad of programs and activities. June is a significant month for promoting economic empowerment within the Black community as it is celebrated as Black Dollar Days. This observance encourages Sorors and our community to actively support and patronize Black-owned businesses throughout the entire month. Black Dollar Days aim to foster economic growth, equity, and self-sufficiency within the Black community by highlighting the importance of circulating money within the community.
Together, let's dive into the exciting lineup of events that will shape our June and leave a lasting impact on our lives and communities. So, fasten your seatbelts, and let’s SOAR across the DFW Metroplex!
Also, on this Memorial Day, I extend warm wishes and gratitude to every one of you. As we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation, we also reflect on the strength and unity within our sisterhood.
As we gather with loved ones, may we cherish the memories of those who have gone before us, and may we find solace in knowing that their sacrifices have paved the way for our freedoms.
Wishing you a meaningful and reflective Memorial Day, Sorors.
Continue to send healing thoughts, prayers, and well wishes to Madam Basileus. Get well soon, Soror MarQuisia!

OUR STANDARDS
A draft of the Manual of Standard Procedures was provided to every soror in attendance at the May chapter meeting. If you were not there, a copy will be made available at the Lemon Squeezes program and at the chapter meeting in June.
TRO Soaring to Greatness survey results were shared during the meeting. Below is a link to the shared results for easy viewing. This is only a sampling of the results. More will be shared during the June chapter meeting.
Manual of Standard Procedures Thoughts
The Standards Committee is so excited to present Lemon Squeezes: The Sequel on June 3, 2023! We are looking forward to having open and sisterly dialogue about how to engage in productive, crucial conversations. Further on down the road is Culture Walk: Part II, which will be presented at Chapter Retreat.
As a friendly reminder on our journey to compliance as well as operating procedures defining who we are, we are going to go…go slow…but, go…correctly. Why? Because we are Tau Rho Omega.
Stay tuned!
