Soror MarQuisia Johnson, Basileus
Greetings Sorors!
To God be the glory for the things He has done! I'm back!
Let me thank everyone for their calls, text messages, Meal Train donations, gifts, flowers, gift cards, and visits. I felt your love, support, and prayers and it really meant a lot to me and my family. I want each of you to know that I LOVE YOU and I am ready to finish the work!
Special thanks to Soror Nicole Harris for stepping in during my illness. The leadership that you have shown to the chapter during my illness is very valuable. We have 3 months left in this administration so let's make it the best 3 months ever! If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please reach out to me. Let's finish Helping Others Pursue Excellence as we SOAR to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood!

As we find ourselves entering the last three months of this incredible year, it's remarkable to reflect on the impact we've made through our award-winning programs across the DFW Metroplex. Let's carry this momentum forward and finish the year stronger than ever in all our initiatives.
Our esteemed GenerationNEXT committee, dedicated to Sorors under 40 years old, is buzzing with energy and enthusiasm. Led by the dynamic Soror Kimberly Agwu as the committee chair, GenNEXT is set to make a lasting mark. For those who haven't had the chance to sign up yet, I encourage you to take this wonderful opportunity. Simply click on the link below and become a part of this NEW vibrant initiative.
I wanted to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to every one of you for the immense support and encouragement you have shown me during my time as Acting Basileus over the past six months.
The journey was both challenging and rewarding, and I could not have navigated it without the unwavering support and guidance. Your trust in me and your willingness to stand by my side through decisions and responsibilities has been truly touching.
I am continually reminded of the incredible strength we possess as a unified force. Together, we have achieved remarkable milestones. I reflect on the collective effort, compassion, and unity that define our sisterhood. I am proud to be a part of Tau Rho Omega and honored to have served as Acting Basileus. THANK YOU!!!
Should you have any questions regarding our programs, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at vicepresident@akatro.org. Your engagement and enthusiasm fuel OUR success, and I am eager to assist in any way I can.
Wishing you all a week filled with blessings!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October is an important time to highlight the impact of breast cancer on women, including the specific statistics related to Black women. Breast cancer affects people of all races and ethnicities, but disparities in both diagnosis and outcomes persist among different groups, including Black women. It's crucial to raise awareness and encourage early detection and preventive measures.
Our "Mammograms and Mimosas" event plays a vital role in encouraging Black women to prioritize their breast health by offering both information and access to screening services.
If you're interested in participating in the event, please click the link below to register.
Early detection through regular mammograms and proactive healthcare can make a significant difference in reducing breast cancer mortality rates among Black women and all women. Let's work together to raise awareness and support the fight against breast cancer.

Hello Sorors!
OUR STANDARDS
On Monday, September 18, the Standards Committee discussed the vote to postpone discussing and voting on bylaw changes until 2024. Since there is a direct correlation between the bylaws and the Manual of Standard Procedures, the committee decided to suspend our work. The new administration will finalize the MSP.
Lastly, the link below provides a few activities in response to the Strategic Plan. Yes, we hear you and are taking action.
