This week was a busy one! We continue to complete end of year assessments. In our writing we have been working on writing as much as we can! We have been reviewing narrative, opinion, and how-to writing. Everyone has been choosing what type of writing they would like to do and then we have been sharing our work with one another.
Wednesday we walked into a Candyland themed school for field day!
Ms. Morgan and Ms. Dee did an AMAZING job decorating and planning a fabulously fun field day. I took so many photos to add to our page, so here is a link to the album of photos:
On Thursday, we traveled to the Maine Forest and Logging Museum! We learned a lot about how people in the past lived. We were also able to see the migration of the alewives! This was incredible to see as they swim upstream to spawn, just like the Atlantic salmon we raised! We saw them swimming up and down the fish ladder, as at this time of year they are still going upstream to spawn, or already have and are headed back to the ocean.
We saw a blacksmith working and learned how he uses fire and his tools, learned about spinning and weaving, explored an old cabin to learn what houses were like as well had learned some games kids used to play, saw the alewives, and learned about furs and trapping! We also all had nail rings made for us and we got to explore the steam engine log haulers. It was quite the day!

We ended the week with a fun craft with Ms. Louise!
