OUR WEEK
I did not do well with taking photos this week! Sorry about that!
On Monday, we made poppies and drawings for the Veterans in our lives and for the Maine Veterans Home. My dad volunteers there every week and on Tuesday morning, our work decorated the lobby and put smiles on many faces.
In reading, we have continued our journey on what it means to be a reader. Adding on to last weekās learning of character, setting, and plot, this week we took a deeper diving into the thinking part of reading!Ā Ā
On Thursday, we read the book āRondo in Cā, a book where everyone is listening to the same piece of music, but it makes them think of different things. We then listened to Beethovenās Rondo in C and drew what it made us think of.Ā We all thought of different things! We took this learning and applied it to our reading; when we read, we all come with different experiences so often, our thinking and connections with the book are very different than someone elseās.
In our word study, our kindergarten is doing a fantastic job learning their lettersĀ and sounds and using that knowledge to read and write short vowel words!
Our first graders are continuing to work on digraphs and second grade is focused on long vowel patterns.
In writing this week, we continued with working on different leads for our narratives.
