Day One

This week, I will send home an update each day for our first three days.  Then moving forward, I will do weekly updates and send them at the end of the week (over the weekend).

We had a fantastic first day of K-2!  We started our day by making crowns to celebrate our day as a kindergartner, first grader or second grader!

For math today we talked about, "What is math?".  We then explored different math stations with partners.  Today we explored pattern blocks, legos and multi-link cubes.

We then had fun at mid-day recess with our pre-K and 3-5 friends!

After recess and lunch each day, we spend some time relaxing. This helps us regulate our bodies and get ready for an afternoon of learning! Students can color, read, or just lay down and relax. Yoga mats, pillows, and floor desks are always an option.

For reading workshop today, we learned that we are all readers!  We learned about how our library is organized and read to our stuffie reading buddies.

After reading, we had some fun playing bingo with Skittles, which made for a tasty treat after we finished playing!

We finished the day with choice time and enjoying each others' company.  What a great day!
