OUR WEEK
This week our kindergartners started putting together the letters they have learned to write words and sentences! They then shared the sentence they wrote with a friend.
Our first graders have been leaning about -all, -oll, -ull, and -ck. Second grade is learning about long vowel words that have e at the end (we call it bossy e).
In writing, we have been learning about taking our stories and turning watermelon stories (stories that happen over a long time) into seed stories. Seed stories are small moments that we stretch out by using all of the author and illustrator crafts we have learned about!
This week, we started to learn about communities. We learned there are three types of communities, urban, suburban, and rural. We drew pictures to help us remember what each meant. We learned that we live in a rural community. Over the next few months, we will be learning all about our community!
On Friday, Ms. Morgan had a fun surprise for library time! She had decorated the library in a Harry Potter theme!
On Friday, Ms. Louise had a fun craft for us, making silly pencils!
