OUR WEEK
We have all been working hard on our reading! This week we did a blend of reading groups and fun Halloween reading activities.
In writing, we worked on mapping our narratives to stretch them out. We then took time to video ourselves telling our stories. This helped us to see if we needed to add more details. Our recordings will help us when we start writing. We'll be able to revisit them to help us organize our thoughts.
We had fun with the story, Room on the Broom this week. We made character puppets to retell the story. On Friday, we all acted it out together and then we did Room on the Broom Cosmic Kids yoga!
On Friday morning we did some pumpkin science and math! We learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin. We then made predictions if a pumpkin floats or not and tested it out. We opened our big pumpkin (donated from Ms. Dee's garden- thank you!). We made predictions of how many seeds we thought were in there. We then counted them all. We counted over 500 seeds! We didn't get a chance to roast them at school, but I have them all ready for us to taste on Monday.
Friday afternoon, we followed a recipe and made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. We shared them with the school and they were delicious!Â
