We have all been working hard at our reading and writing! In reading we have continued to learn about ourselves at readers. This week, we have continued to work on our reading comprehension and talking about what we have read. We have also continued to learn about and practice our reading fluency and reading with expression.
In writing, we started to learn about editing our work. We also learned about what authors can do to keep their writing exciting for the reader by using ellipses, bold print, and making our characters come alive by writing actions.
Tuesday was Fire Safety Day! Thank you to the Aurora Volunteer Fire Department for teaching us all about fire safety!
On Thursday, our 6-8 and pre-k friends joined us for buddy reading!
Friday, we had a beautiful day for Maine Outdoor School. We started class by measuring the shadow of the telephone pole that we will continue to measure for the next few months. We then learned about what animals and plants need for survival. We explored the woods and learned about the difference between sunny and shady spots.
