This week was a busy one! We started our Wabanaki studies unit. We will be learning about the languages of the Wabanaki nations and about past and present time.
In our reading we have been working on strategies to use when we are stuck or if something doesn't seem right. We've been practicing full group and then practicing when we read one-on-one with me or in small group.
We have beans growing! And our sugar snap peas are also growing up past our lights! We also replanted our herbs to give them more space to grow.
On St. Patrick's Day we had fun doing a few different activities and reading books about leprechauns and Ireland. We learned a short Irish Jig, wrote directions on How To Catch A Leprechaun and did an craft activitiy writing why were were lucky.
This week we officially finished our How-To books! They were self edited and written into final draft with only a small amount of support from me. I am very proud of how hard everyone worked. We practiced reading and then shared them with the class.
We have been hard at work in our reading, word study and math groups!
