I can't believe the end of the year is so close! This year has just flown by. At this time of the year we are working on finishing up math units and doing end of year assessments. The same goes for reading and writing! We are all enjoying looking at our progress from the beginning of the year until now. WOW, have we grown as learners!
We continued our study of light this week. We looked at our experiment we set up last week of paper in the window and got to see what the light did to the paper that was exposed to light. We also started to learn about light and color and light reflection. We had fun making shadow puppets!
Tuesday was HOT and HUMID! We all jumped on the bus and headed to Mace's for ice cream. They had invited the students for a free ice cream. It was a delicious treat! THANK YOU to Mace's for supporting our school!
In our study of sound waves this week, we expremimented with sound traveling along a string between two cups. The cups help focus the sound waves and the vibrations travel through the string into the other cup! We used varying lenghts of string and tested out other variables. We explored these again on Friday, as a few of our learners were out the day we did the experiment.
On Thursday, we headed to The Grand to see a version of Make Way for Ducklings. We then headed to Knowton Park for a picnic and lots of fun play time!
On Friday, Ms. Louise joined us to make Memorial Day crafts.
