This week we started to learn about sound and light.Β We started an experiment, asking what we thought sunlight would do to paper if we placed it in the windows. We made fun shapes to cover parts of the paper and hung them all in the windows. I can't wait to check them after this sunny weekend!
After reading the three Knuffle Bunny books by Mo Willems, we wrote how the main character, Trixie, changes throughout the series! We have contined to learn about characters in stories, including how other characters in a book help us to get to know the main characters better.
We had fun exploring fraction tiles this week.
In our study of sound waves, we learned that sound waves travel through air, moving the air. We went on a sound walk, writing down what we could hear and how loud or soft the sound was. We then came back to our classroom to share what we heard with a partner.
We did a fun experiment using saran wrap over a bowl with salt on top. We then rocked out to some loud music and got to see the sound waves moving the air, which made the salt move!
On Friday, we released our Atlantic Salmon! We released 180 fry into the West Branch of the Union River along Tannery Loop.Β Some years we take the time for everyone to release some, but the black flies were swarming when we did our release, so we did a quick release and raced back to the van.
