Successful completion of Grade 9 or 10 Science or equivalent.

Description

Sport, Exercise and Health Science is a course which combines academic study with the acquisition of practical and investigative skills. Students will be able to examine and comprehend concepts related to multiple scientific topics such as Human Anatomy, Exercise Physiology, Cardiorespiratory Fitness, Movement Analysis, Nutrition, Non-nutritional Ergogenic Aids, Sport and Ethics Skill Acquisition, Overtraining and Stress, Measurements of Athletic Performance and Environmental Factors and Performance. Moreover students will have the opportunity to choose two topics of individual investigation on which they will conduct research and analyze the results.

Assessment

Unit assessments (quizzes and tests), laboratory investigations, content activities, individual or group research projects, and practice work.
