IB Diploma Course Students: Grade of C or above in Algebra 2 & Trigonometry Honors or Grade of B+ or higher in Algebra 2 & Trigonometry

Description:

The IB Mathematics Analysis and Approaches SL course is a rigorous, well-paced IB course that focuses on providing students with analytical skills and a deeper understanding of Mathematics. Emphasis is placed in constructing, communicating and justifying mathematical arguments. This course includes topics such as Number and Algebra, Functions, Geometry and Trigonometry, Statistics and Probability, and Calculus. Throughout the course, students are encouraged to apply mathematical knowledge to solve abstract problems and problems set in various meaningful contexts. Students will develop mathematical insight and an appreciation for mathematical connections. 

This course is intended for students who enjoy developing mathematical arguments, problem solving and exploring real and abstract applications, with and without technology. 

A Graphic Display calculator is required. CASIO CG series graphic display calculator will be used for class instruction and demonstration. Please check with the school before buying a graphing calculator.

Note: This is the first course in a two year course sequence.
