Prerequisite:  

Successful completion of Pre-Algebra or equivalent

Description:

This course is designed to provide the students with a solid foundation in Algebra. The students will focus on topics such as exponents & radicals, linear and quadratic equations, graphing in the coordinate plane, systems of equations, factoring, rational expressions, the Pythagorean Theorem and right-angled trigonometry. Mathematical reasoning and problem-solving strategies are emphasized throughout the course. Additionally, students engage in data analysis, mastering the construction and interpretation of frequency tables, bar graphs, histograms, line graphs, and scatter plots. 


A scientific calculator is required for the course.
