Student Apprentice 

Semester / 1 credit / Grades 11-12

Any student who desires additional enrichment in an area of interest that cannot be met within the confines of the regular Program of Studies may apply for Student Apprentice. Student Apprentice is not for students experiencing scheduling conflicts. A student should have exhausted all similar course offerings within an academic area before requesting Student Apprentice. Student Apprentices are under the same school regulations as classroom students.

ACS Athens Open- Tech Entrepreneur Program 

Semester / .5 credit / Grades 9-12

Prerequisite:  Students must have been selected through the ACS Open Application Process

The goal of this course is to support students to create innovative ideas with commercial potential. The program is divided into two years, as described below (Students may receive .5 credit for each semester when enrolled within their progression of the two year program): 

Year One of the program will focus on the development of the Student's idea into a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). The Institute will provide coaches, mentors, and experts who will support and guide the Student throughout the process. A structured framework consisting of four components, including self-motivation, milestone achievements, mandatory workshops, and mentor/expert sessions, will be implemented to help progress the idea in a systematic manner.

In Year Two (for qualifying students), the focus will be on finding a product-market fit for the MVP and generating revenues for the concept. The Institute will continue to provide support through coaches, mentors, and experts. The Student will have the opportunity to refine their product, conduct more detailed market research, and develop a go-to-market strategy. The Institute will facilitate connections with potential customers, partners, and investors to further the commercialization efforts.
