Advanced Algebraic Methods

Prerequisite: 

Open to students in grades 10 or above who successfully completed Algebra 2 and Trigonometry. 

Description:

This course is a fast-paced and rigorous study of advanced algebraic topics, including: equations

and inequalities, functions, relations, function transformations, polynomials, the factor remainder

theorem, quadratics and the properties of the discriminant, logarithms, trigonometric identities,

functions and equations, probability and combinatorics. It is designed for students planning to

study mathematics and /or science in college. It is a Pre IB Higher level math course.

A graphic display calculator is required. CASIO CG series graphic display calculator will be

used for class instruction and demonstration. Please check with the school before buying a

graphing calculator.
