Dear All,
Thank you for another fantastic and busy week filled with concerts, auditions, exam preparation, great learning, and, most importantly, lots of smiles!
Cowdray Hall Success
Well done to our seven pupils who performed in the first lunchtime recital concert of 2025 at Cowdray Hall. They delivered a polished and varied programme to a packed audience of enthusiastic music lovers. A big thank you to Ms Donati for accompanying the trip and to Mrs Kyle for her fantastic accompaniment during the concert.
Audition Season
This week, we held a series of ACMS auditions, and we were impressed by the hard work and preparation shown by the pupils and their families. It’s always exciting to glimpse the musical potential that could shape the future of our school!
Adam and his Band
Huge congratulations to Adam and his band, WyldKat for making it through to the grand final of 2024–2025: Battle of the Bands! Ticket info is available online, and I’m sure Adam and the band would be grateful for any support on the night. Please note that age restrictions may apply. While previous rounds had a 14+ limit, there’s no current information on this for the final, so do check the event details online.
Technical Assessments
Best of luck to our S1 to S3 pupils who will be taking their technical assessments on Thursday, 23rd January. Assessment times are posted on the noticeboard.
Scottish Young Musician (SYM) Heats
Next week, pupils in S4 to S6 will be competing in the senior heats for the Scottish Young Musicians competition. Times and venues have been issued to all competitors. We wish them the very best of luck!
Burns Supper Performances
It’s going to be a busy week for our pipers! We also have a vocal duet performing Scottish traditional songs at the Aberdeenshire Cricket Club for the Caithness, Orkney, and Shetland Association’s Burns Supper.
Italian Song Recital – Rescheduled
Please note, the Italian Song Recital has been postponed. It will now take place at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, 18th February in the MPA.
