Other Common Names: Catmint, Catnep, Catswort, Fieldbalm

Habitat and Origin: Originates all over North America and Europe and resides in disturbed areas such as road sides and stream banks.

Characteristics: Erect perennial plant with hairy opposite leaves with toothed blades. The plant has small white flowers with purple spots in dense clusters at the ends of branches.

Edible Portion: Young leaves can be eaten raw.

Optimal Growing Conditions: Grows well in all soil types.
