2013-06-30 Baby Tobacco

Just came home from watering the gardens with Kelsey. For the second time , I finish watering the Naturalization site and it starts raining. I guess we can't be in control no matter what.

I'm Jennifer and am blogging for the first time on this website. I am working with the team after receiving the Roger Smith Award and been chosen to work on Integrating Aboriginal Perspectives into the Science Curriculum. I will try to blog as often as I can but right now I want to finish working on the literature review part of the research, and for those who have done this before, you have my greatest admiration :)

The east balcony surprised us today. Baby tobacco plants growing in clusters all leaning in the direction of the light, pushing with all their might to get as much sunlight to grow. Beautiful view and I will post some pictures too.

The main floor garden is rich and green. Can't wait until they all bloom but you can already see colours of purple, blue and yellow barely showing. I also noticed that the growth is richer in the cooler area blessed with some shade during the day while the opposite side, with more direct sunlight is getting dry very quickly. I suppose we need to pay extra care and attention for them , especially the currants that seem to need a lot of water, but the plants and us were very lucky this year to get so much rain in Edmonton.

I hope you enjoy the pictures :)
