2012-07-16 Unidentified Growing Objects

We have a few unknown visitors to the garden as it has flourished outside these past few weeks. One in particular has caught my attention. I am just not sure if it is a visitor, or if it is really our Indigenous seeds finally growing!

If we think back to May, we had quite a few seeds that were not showing any signs of success in the newspaper planters. As our plugs arrived, I simply used the soil (with the seeds inside) to plant the plugs. One or two of these grew (mainly Sticky Geraniums), but there was still very little success.

Now that the gardens have been planted, There seems to be a few things that have sprouted, either from our seeds or from whatever seeds existed in the soil we used.

The ones that struck me, though, are the ones pictured below. There are about 6 of them in total, but they are only found on the East balcony. This makes me think that they are from our seeds!

One of the largest ones

One of the smaller ones

They are quite hairy!

I am really hoping they are our Wild Tobacco plants, but I am really unsure. They are growing quite large and quite fast.

If anyone has any possible identity for this plant, please feel free to let us know! Simply sign our guest book page and leave it in the comments and suggestions box.
