SIGNIFICANCE-Important
IDEALS-An ultimate object or aim to achieve
CONFEDERACY-A group of people united for the same purpose
(like the SOUTH keeping slavery)
TURNING POINT- A moment when the course of events is changed
LOYALTIES-Faithful to commitments or obligations
REBELLION-Resistance to authority
MAJORITY- The greater part OR more than half the total
ABOLISH-Put an end to something(LIKE SLAVERY)
ASSOCIATED-To unite; combine (to enter into union)
CESSION -Something that is given up
(gained by another, such as land)
TENSIONS- mental or emotional strain
FUGITIVE-a runaway (a person fleeing from prosecution)
ECONOMY -the earnings of a place (LIKE A COUNTRY)

MANUFACTURED-the making of goods by machinery, especially on a larger scale
ENDURE-to hold out against or to undergo (also to continue to exist or last)
