7th Grade P.E. Benchmarks
The following benchmarks will be assessed for 7th grade students
One hand set shot
Bounce Pass
Chest Pass
Non/dominant hand dribble
Forearm Pass
Underhand Serve
Forehand Strike
Cardiovascular Fitness
10 minute continual jog/run.
Abdominal Strength and Endurance
Curl-ups.
Other Items introduced and taught but not assessed as a benchmark
Using simple combinations of locomotor skills to music that can be repeated.
Participate in activities that develop and improve cardiovascular fitness.
Participate in activities that develop flexibility in the hips.
Learn to use corrective feedback to improve skill performance.
Learn and follow rules to selected games.
Recognize selected benefits of physical activity.
Recognize the effects of inactivity on health-related fitness, growth, and performance.
Recognize activities that contribute to feeling good. (healthy)
Demonstrate appropriate behaviors that exemplify best effort, respect of self and others, cooperation and following directions.
Recognize the value of exercising regularly outside of class.
Other activities/sports which may be covered but not assessed as a benchmark.
Softball, Soccer, Large group and Individual challenges, Team Handball, Modified Football/Hockey and Table Tennis.
