8th Grade P.E. Benchmarks
The following benchmarks will be assessed for 8th grade students
One Hand Set Shot
Lay-up Shot
Forehand Strike
Backhand Strike
Foot Dribble
Trap
Passing
Overhand Serve
Forearm Pass
Set Pass
Cardiovascular Fitness – 1 mile run
Upper Body Strength and Endurance – Push-ups
Agility – Shuttle Run
Flexibility – Sit’nReach
Abdominal Strength and Endurance – Curl-ups
12 minute continuous jog/run.
1st Marking Period – 1Fitness Goal, simple plan of improvement and evaluation.
2nd Marking Period – Develop Personal Fitness Plan, implement at home, final evaluation.
Objective rules and strategy test on at least two of the above sports/activities.

Using simple combinations of locomotor skills to music that can be repeated for at least 2 minutes.
Use corrective feedback to improve skill performance
