This day is the finishing day. I want to finish the video Heartland and at the same time with many absences Friday those students will take the post test. Next, comic book presentations will get finished, too. Then, students will have time to start creating their Railroad Song.

Students will explore Moodle. Moodle is a computer program that students need to perform many tasks from the Transcontinental Railroad topic. 3 assignments will be uploaded to me with the last assignment being a group project. Students in a group will create a multi media video using Voice Thread, We Video, or Prezi. Students will be in the computer lab in a few weeks. In the mean time, I will be using Chromebooks in the classroom exploring the Moodle.
Thursday
Students in groups will be going into the Moodle to look at a power point on the Transcontinental Railroad. Next, students will answer questions on the power point that are within the Moodle.

Students will choose which part of the comic book they want to complete. There are four sections to the comic book and your child will be graded on what he or she produces not what the other 3 produce.

Students will learn their Reconstruction Plan they chose
Students will teach their Reconstruction Plan to the other two in their group and fill out their trifold paper.
Next, with the trifold filled out, students will argue why their Reconstruction Plan is the best. The kicker, students cannot choose their expert groups Reconstruction Plan to argue.
Students will video the arguments using We Video.

Students will explain how William Lloyd Garrison and Frederick Douglass felt about the 13th Amendent.
2. 14th Amendment Picture
Student will explain why many Republicans feared the Civil Rights Act of 1866 might be overturned.
3. 15th Amendment Picture
Students will explain how white women felt about the amendment
2. Students will enact a newscast featuring the lead story
Create a news skit summarizing events leading up to the ratification of one of the amendments. Students choice.

Voting information from Congress – why? – what state or region is the Congressman from?
Voting information from some States – why? – what region of the country with dictate the answer.
Students can act out the dialogue between anchors or have students cut to a reporter standing by “on the scene”
