Focus:
Ngā mihi o Matariki! Happy Matariki! Following on from our Matariki/ Māori New Year celebration last Friday, we are going to be exploring the stars and the important role they played in navigation for Pasifika and Māori voyagers.
'Navigation' is our final mini focus for this term! We are going to be exploring a range of technologies used for navigation, and creating our own DLOs to share our learning.

This week we are beginning our second mini focus for the term. We have just finished three weeks inquiring into resources which were used by Māori before European settlers arrived, and before transport between different countries became easier.
We are now going to begin inquiring into transport and travel. In particular, we are going to find out about technology used by Māori to travel around Aotearoa and beyond. During this inquiry, we will look at the resources used to create these methods of transport, and also changes to navigation over time.
