Hindrance, Code of Honor: All Musketeers have a Code of Honor which generally encompasses Honor of Gentleman, Valid in All Things as All Times and Fidelity to the Rightful Ruler of Gallia.
Skills As per core rules
Equipment Rocketeers don't need to worry about money. You start with your armor, force weapon, automated healer, and a jet pack. You can mostly get whatever else you want.
Take one of the NPCs from season 1 & 2, tell us what happened to them in the last 10 years.
Normal Savage Worlds house rules
Rocketeer Armor Armor 4, Min Str 4
Force Weapons Rocketeer weapons project a shimmering field of contained energy around a thin core. Take whatever normal melee weapon you want. Step up the damage die by 1 and add an additional 2 AP. A light force weapon (anything that is d4) is capable of deflecting projectiles - you have to beat their parry, not just a 4. You may only carry 1 force weapon.
Rocket Pack A small, back mounted device that allows a Rocketeer to fly for a short amount of time (about 300 feet, up 3-4 stories, can't hover). Rocket Packs aren't known for their maneuverability. If used in combat, a free Piloting roll is required otherwise using it is an action. A Rocket Pack has a run die of a d12 but requires a Piloting action - on a failure you can't take any other actions after the run (on a zone map, you can move to any zone).
Automated Healer This small nanotech device is a single-use device that can heal any numbers of wounds in about 5 minutes. You can only carry one at a time 'cuz science.
Healing: Advanced medical facilities can heal any number of wounds in about an hour. Golden Hour rules do not apply.
Guns As an enlightened culture. Gallia outlawed guns centuries ago. Even the government, with the exceptions of times of war, does not use them (hence the need for Rocketeers). While criminal elements will occasionally try to use them, the government of Gallia makes it very difficult and the users are harshly punished. The use of any other ranged weapon is beneath the Honor of a Gentleman.
Warp Drives: The science of bending space has been established for centuries now and can fit even on small spaceships. A light-year can be covered in 2 days. Trips between star systems take about a week.
Communication: While there is FTL travel, there is not yet FTL communication.
Tech-y Skills:
Common Knowledge: To use normal, everyday tech - Deploy the shields!
Electronics: To change or maximize how tech works - More power to the shields!
Repair: To make stuff - Let's give this craft some shields!
Thievery: For hacking. - I break into their systems and take down their shields!
The World at Large
Interstellar Imperia: One arm of a spiral galaxy has been heavily colonized by four great powers - Gallia, Britannica Solaria, Spenth, and The Holy Roman Stellar Empire. The four powers maneuver and scheme against one another in an effort to increase their power.
Gallia: Think France. Bastion of civilization for the last 1000 years, the height of sophistication in culture, art, dress, architecture. Le Capitale is the most beautiful city in known space. Home of the Rocketeers.
Britannica Solaria: Think Britain. Multiple colonies that united under a single flag only 100 years ago. A mostly aquatic homeworld with the people living on mountain tops due to wide tidal swings.
Holy Roman Stellar Empire: Think Germany. A military powerhouse of the 4 Imperia. Emperor Matthias XLII assumed power 3 years ago and hasn't stopped rattling sabers ever since, but the in-fighting among his Kingsprinz' have checked his ambition. Known for their heavily industrialized cities and extensive mining operations throughout their territory.
Spenth: Think Spain. The most expansive and populated of the 4 Imperia, famed for their exploration. Arastillan wine and racing sloops are highly prized.
The Church: Religion in Interstellar Imperia has almost completely consolidated under one organization known simply as The Church. Led by Star Pope Regulus IV, The Church has been less strict that it has in the past.
Aspects: Young Ruler trying to do Good
Assumed the throne of Gallia at the age of 7. Her regents have ruled for the last 11 years, doing a decent job but mostly enriching themselves in one way or another. On fully assuming the throne, Queen Marie has clawed back some of the throne's power that was lost and put an end to some of the corruption. She has made many enemies in the process. With Lenay's demotion, she currently has no regent.
Aspects: Better than my Half-Sister
Rival claimant. Half-sister of Queen Marie, a bastard of her Father King Phillip. Sister to Lonny, her disabled older brother who some say is the rightful heir. She has a little too much support from the noble class and was thus removed from court by the Queen & Cardinal when she was 16. She is the ruler of planet Arguil and retains the title of Duchess, but is no longer welcome in court. Swings a mean wrench. Killed her regent, Cardinal Rostenov, who tried to kidnap the Queen. Welcomed back to court for this.
Aspects: Bumbling Skirt Chase, Can’t Say No to His Bunnykins
Favored Uncle of Queen Marie. Called Uncle Clair by nearly everyone. Tried to buy Royal Wine from a smuggler. Brought a date to the mining expedition that was secretly a spy.
Loyal Rocketeer servant of the Young Queen. Character in Season 1 & 2. Worked behind the scenes to get Roxanne put in the Bastille. Became Knight Commander of the Rocketeers when Major Astrid was forced out.
S3: Resigns his post due to poor judgement in working with Maurice and Dumas, his double agent.
Loyal Rocketeer until learning his half-sister was Marqurite. That lead to a falling out with Gerard and Antoine traveling to Arguile to head the Duchess's personal guard, the Dancing Blades.
Agents of a cabal working to usurp the Queen. Roxanne was Uncle Clair's mistress at the mining debates, stealing his info and delivering it to the other side. Gerard pulled strings to get her imprisoned.
LeFavre is a disgraced former Rocketeer. Tangled with Gerard and Antoine on multiple occassions. in Seasons 1 & 2.
S3: Was the mastermind behind the smear campaign of Gerard resulting in his resignation. But who paid her to do it?
Aspects: Detached Visionary
Became main advisor to the queen with the removal of Cardinal Richlieu. A science/tech person eager to breaks eggs to make a better space omelette. Disgraced when he tried to smuggle in particle guns and was demoted as regent.
Aspects: True Believer
Other: Was the primary regent for Queen Marie until she reached age 18. Uncle Clairmont convinced his niece to remove the Cardinal as the main advisor and instead install Regent Bruchon. The Cardinal remains a member of the court and offers input, but his stature is much diminished.
Aspects: Too Honorable for His Own Good. In Over His Head with Court Politics.
Other: Captain of the Rocketeers. Has served as the embodiment of the Rocketeers for the last 30 years, but is getting older and is in over his head in palace intrigue matters. He is highly respected by the Rocketeers. Eventually dismissed for trying to hide the Queen's illigitimate siblings. Replaced by Gerard.
Aspect: Right away! Though the impossible might take a minute longer
A functionary for the Queen. Stepped in to serve as lead negotiator during the mining episode when the Noble lead was over matched. Has shown herself to be a capable, get shit done kind of person.
Aspect: Yeah, I can get that for you.
Friend of Gerard's from childhood. Notorious smuggler. If something fishing is going on, Marcus is probably nearby. Delivered illegal particle weapons to Buchay, illegal wine to Uncle Clair, and deflowered Simone Tome, a former flame of Gerard's.
S3: Killed by Dumas
Aspect All of the Finest Things Come from Arastilla
A diplomat from Spenth. Was involved in the mining debacle. Always seems to be nearby when things are going wrong but haven't proven anything yet. Even if could prove it, his diplomatic connections make him mostly untouchable.
S3: His ship exploded on departure. His right hand man, Colonel Summers, seems still at large.
Episode 1: Tipped off about a smuggling operation happening at the opera, the players arrest Red Marge and Lord Durell as they smuggle Spenthian wine. Eclair learns that his brother has died and receives an encrypted data pad. Cardinal Richlieux accuses Mayor Gerard of crimes against the crown and has called for a tribunal.
Episode 2: Each of the Rocketeers is called to the stand for one reason or another, but they handle themselves with aplomb frustrating the Cardinal. A great deal of damning activity is directed at Gerard. Uncle Clair is attacked by a mob but is rescued by the Rockeeters. Yves drives the carriage into a canal, but flies Uncle and his "stenographer" out of the carriage just before it is struck by a boat.
They learn that some Spenthian wine was put in his carriage. Checking the video, they learn it was a red-headed woman. Enhance! finds a few matching subjects - one of the being Roxanne from the Baxter Affair. Which is strange since she's supposed to be in prison.
Going to the Bastile, they learn that a body double has been sent in Roxanne's place and that the woman has been at large the last 10 years. They manage to track down the surgeon who performed helped with the body double.
Episode 3: The find the surgeon, but a group of Chat Noir thugs has come for him as well. They help him escape the thugs and he spills the beans. He did a rush surgery job for Roxanne. From the description, it sounds like Eclair's brother, Dumas! Dumas is still alive. Under sedation, Dumas was mumbling that The Scarlet Lilly was a safe place to go.
Episode 4: Going to The Scarlet Lilly, a noble bar that is a favorite of Duke Dubois, the Rocketeers get a bit aimless on what they should do. Eventually, Roxanne and Dumas come in. Roxanne realizes Yves is spying electronically. Ben goes to get Roxanne, is dumped in a the canal, and then a chase. The rest of the party chases after Dumas, but both people escape.
Episode 5: They do a fake transfer order for the Doctor to try and flush out Roxanne. It works and Roxanne is arrested. She tries convincing each PC in turn to let her out, but they all refuse. She even dangles an upcoming diplomatic crisis the PCs could avert, but they don't go for that either. They go to Gerard where Eclair berates him for his quitting attitude.
Episode 6: Gerard resigns his commission, but a show of support from his fellow Rocketeers convinces the Queen to not hand out any punishment. Roxanne escapes from jail (an anonymous tip to her thugs). She and Dumas abduct Duke Dubois, grab his space ship, and prepare to get off planet. The Rocketeers track them down to the Mistfall Cliffs before they escape. Roxanne is captured, Dumas killed, and the Duke goes free.
Cashgiri's ship blows up as he leaves for Spenth. Video shows that Dumas went on board a week ago with a crew and that Summers wasn't on the ship when it left.
