Now they just have to tame the island and make it their own.

Introduction

You find yourself in Port Peril, the largest city in The Shackles, a anarchic collection of islands governed by the Free Captains, what everybody else - especially the nation of Cheliax - calls pirates. Player's Guide if you want to get it.

Important Stuff

  • You character should want to be a pirate. It's not necessarily an evil campaign, but you are pirates.

    • Lots of the campaign takes place on ship, exploring wrecks, and such. Skills that might be handy: Profession (Sailor) and others, Climbing, Swimming, Knowledge (Geography), Knowledge (Local), Throwing, Boating, Survival

  • Fair warning: The campaign starts when you're press-ganged aboard The Wormwood. Figure out your starting gear, but you won't have it. The ship is full of douche-bags that I will enjoy playing to the max.

  • Savage Worlds Deluxe is the only rulebook you need. If you've got material from elsewhere that you want, just run it past me.

  • The Pathfinder Wiki is handy for knowing stuff about the Pathfinder world. Snazzy map of the Pathfinder world.

---- House Rules & Character Creation -----

Throwing: While it's important this campaign (grappling hooks), it seems a low-worth skill. Let's get rid of it and just roll it into Shooting.

Misceallaneous Setting Stuff

Besmara: Goddess of pirates and sea monsters. Brash, lusty, confrontational, but follows a pirate code of honor. Most pirates throw a coin or two overboard as they leave port to curry her favor. Besmara is a thorn in the side of all lawful gods.

Cheliax: A lawful evil nation far to the north that swears fealty to the devil Asmodeus. The Cheliax navy is the most powerful in the world and it perturbs them to no end that they haven't conquered this lawless region.

Eye of Abendego: A giant whirlpool with hurricane strength winds that plagues the Fever Sea. Its unpredictable movement is constantly altering the currents in the Fever Sea making navigation here especially difficult. The difficult currents though are what has kept other nations from conquering this area.

Free Captains: Pirate that gain enough infamy are referred to as Free Captains and become protected by the pirate's code. You must apply to the Pirate Council in Port Peril to earn this title. Free Captains won't attack each other, preferential treatment in port, have some limited say in how the Shackles operates, can get the Council to address grievances, etc..

Hurricane King: The title given to the leader of The Pirate Council, currently Kerdak Bonefist, captain of the Filthy Lucre.

The Pirate Council: A group of powerful Free Captains that rules the Shackles and enforces the Pirate's Code. The Pirate Council bestows Free Captain titles on worthy pirates. The current council:

Kendrik Bonefirst (H, M), captiain of the Filthy Lucre, has a castle in Port Peril, has ruled for 20 years

Tessa Fairwind (F, Half-elf), captain of the Luck of the Draw, home in Quent on Motaku Isle

Master of the Gales (M, Human), captain of Kraken, bit mysterious.

Pierce Jarell (M, Human), captain of Salty Flagon. Lives life to the fullest.

Arronax Endymion - Lord of Hell Harbor, former Cheliax Admiral
