A Firefly-esque game. Living on the edge of the 'verse, trying to make a livin best ya can, not always on the right side of the law. Firefly Setting Rules

Making a Character:

Also, know the answer to these two questions:

Regular Characters

Floyd Moseby (Andy): Ship mechanic, couch surfer (Repair, Operate, little bit of healing & hacking)

Clint: (Brent) Shotgun toter, brawler, softie at heart.

Victor Spike: Taunt, hacking, theivery, smart ass.

Other Notable Peeps

On the Destrier:

Captain Roscoe: The Captain of the Destrier. A man that is getting too old for this shit. He usually has Clint and Marko do all the work, but might appear out of the background for an adventure.

Ronaldo Montecarlo: Ronaldo and his true love Jasmine Chyrium were rescued from the renaissance-copying planet Vega 9. They both are spoiled rich kids running away from their wealthy parents and excited to be on such a glorious adventure. Ronaldo was a bit of a useless fop when first met, but maybe he's grown up a bit at this point?

Jasmine Chyrium: Ronaldo's true love. Jasmine has some minor telepathic abilities (maybe a stunt - Can read a person's hidden thoughts on a Will contest, but must take a Consequence. Or maybe once per session?).

Ma Miller: Kindly but tough mother of Maggie Miller from Season 3, Episode 4. Alliance is after Maggie, so Ma is not safe.

Other Crew: The Destrier has plenty of other un-named, un-met crew. Feel free to invent any you like as a guest character.

Others

Poe: (Will) Pilot from the bad part of the planet, Emotionally Contagious, Fast & Fun beats Slow & Steady, Former ganger, Uuuummmm… sure it’s legal.... -- Pilot, ship mechanic, pistol expert

Marko: (Andy) Professional con-man tasting freedom. They're out to get me. Must balance the Scales. Who is that Guy - He looks nondescript. Always has something up his sleeve. -- Face, Con man. Retired to Endeavor to help at the orphanage with Sherpard Rust

Mr Bumbles: A rascally cat missing a tail. Former ship mascot, now with Marko

Fat Al: Blackmarket fence, mobster, finder in a little of everything going on. While Fat Al has frequently hired the Destrier for jobs, he's also tried to collect the bounty on them offered by Overseer Fung. Office in on Space Station Zed.

Delores Falcon: An crooked Blue Sun executive. Was working with the Destrier, but when they ruined Gator for her the PCs became her mortal enemy.

Overseer Tommy Fung (DECEASED): The man Blue Sun put in charge of this quandrant. The Destrier has caused him many problems and he'd like nothing more than to capture them and see them hung.

The World at Large

Some of the notable people, places, or things in the world.

Destrier: The name of the ship you're on. The Destrier is capable of on-planet as well as off-planet travel in addition to lots of hiding places. It has a short-range transport with an anti-grav beam for snagging various things.

Blue Sun: The huge, multiplanet conglomerate, corporation. Kinda creepy and background at this point.

Outpost: A planet on the far edge of things. Three factions are involved in most things - Aspis Consortium (miners), Ma Rainey's Gang (homey criminal empire), and the Zebulons (religious fanatics colonizing a planet).

Firefly Lingo: Boat or Ship (refers to spacecraft), Shiny (Cool, Good), Goram (god damn), Rut/Rutting (fuck). General pronunciation

Rule Changes

Savage Worlds Houserules

Firefly Slang Benny: Once per session, drop some Firefly slang or Chinese into your roleplay for a benny.

Extra Wound Max: Extras can do at max, after soaking, 3 wounds.

Episodes to Date

Season 1

Episode 1: On their way to Fat Al for a job, the Destrier is intercepted by Overseer Fung. The Destrier has a hard landing on a nearby planet. Clint & Marko have a hazardous journey to a nearby fungus farm where a long-crashed ship has the part they need to escape. Overseer Fung is questioning the farmers and the two put a stop to that.

Episode 2: Fat Al hires them to steal a trove of Rarium from a mining planet. Overseer Fung arrives at the space station and the Destrier has to leave quickly. At the mining camp, Clint and Marko have to dispatch a second group of thieves that Fat Al had previously hired.

On Vega 9, they learn that the Rarium is being used in a foul medical procedure to increase the latent telepathic abilities of the young Jasmine Chyrium. Clint and Marko don't take kindly to that (and think a telepath would be a great addition to the crew). They rescue her lover Ronaldo Montecarlo, fake their suicides, and escape Vega 9 before their angry families can arrest them.

Episode 4: The crew has grown tired of Al's double-dealings and decides to strike out on their own - and be a thorn in Al's side as much as possible. They go to a Blue Sun capital planet and hijack some of Al's cargo. They meet up with Delores Falcon, a Blue Sun executive that has worked with Fat Al before but is looking to strike out on her own.

Episode 5: Delores tells the crew that Fat Al is very, very interested in a high stakes poker game. The crew decides they want in as well. They get embroiled in an adventure when a villain kidnaps Sandra in revenge for the actions of her ancestors.

Episode 6: From Sandra's intel, they steal a painting of Al's which gets them into the poker tournament. Hijinks ensure, they can't win the poker tournament but when masked rebels attack the tournament they seize the opportunity to steal the prizes for themselves. One of those, a large, mysterious ore known as the Aqualite, they sell to Delores Falcon which allows her to oust a competitor and install her lackey on the mining planet of Gator.

Episode 7: Delores loses the Aqualite to thieves and suggests the crew go steal it back. The crew figures out that it is resistance fighters on Gator that stole the Aqualite - the same people who attacked the casino. They learn that the Aqualite is actually a power source for a massive portal. They aid the resistance in activating the portal thus flooding Gator as it once was in the distant past making the planet worthless to Blue Sun. Overseer Fong is killed when he tries to stop them and Delores Falcon is now extremely angry with the crew of the Destrier.

Episode 8: The players find themselves delivering tractor parts to the Greenbelt on the outskirts of the sector. They stumble into a scheme involving Xanthi - a sort of space whale - attacking the farming asteroids. Director Hazalon has modified the research of the xenobiologist Kera Beloon (an ex-Marco flame and potential mother to Marco's son) to get the Xanthi to attack so that he can buy up the farms to grow a special bio-plastic.

Season 2

Troubling though, it appears that Riley is infected by one of the aliend parasites.
