Fate/Cortex Mashup: Giving it a test

Fate - Preferred system. Adapts easily to other game adventures, narrative, quick, story-based

Savage Worlds - Liking it, don't like the plot point campaigns. Running out of fleshed out campaigns. Everknight (Fantasy Underdark) is one possibility. Run a Paizo AP with SW rules another (see below).

Numenera - Some interesting ideas, easy on the GM. Really not digging the "weird" game world. Use the rules (Cypher System) but play some other setting with it?

Dungeon World - Fantasy gaming, very narrative, looks easy on the GM. Quick intro, SRD. A few published adventures.

Adventure Ideas

Firefly: Out of adventures. Maybe adapt Bulldog adventures (too sci-fi, not enough Western-y, but could adapt)? Maybe Western adventures could be adapted? Adapt Space Lanes adventures. Or maybe even adapt cyberpunk. Traveller?

Three Rocketeers: Campaign we started that took a break from - a sci-fi version of Musketeers. Out of adventures. Maybe could adapt Musketeer TV show episodes? Or, there's got to be 3 Musketeers adventures out there doesn't there? Could adapt All for One adventures? Or adapt this.

Blood on The Trail: Cowboys, wagon train, and vampires. Campaign we started and paused due to lack of adventures. Adapt something Western? Horror?

Call of Cthulu: Lots of published adventures. https://www.chaosium.com/7th-edition-scenarios-pdfs/. Not sure how much horror/monsters from beyond/cultists interest me. Maybe for shorter run?

Mask of Nylarhotep: Another CoC, supposed to be a classic campaign. All new updated version. https://www.chaosium.com/masks-of-nyarlathotep-pdf-1/

Achtung Cthulu: Cthulu in WW2. Plenty of adventures. 3 full campaigns I think. Maybe more action than investigation as traditional CoC?

Pulp: Played about half of these adventures, could do more.

Paizo Stuff: Lots of stuff, nice art, well done; but standard fantasy.

Paizo Adventure Paths

Like the APs a lot, don't like the work required of Pathfinder/3.5. Could play these adapted to some other rule system. A listing of potential campaigns we could play is below.

DBNPC Rating: The rating for the number of douche bag NPCs in the campaign. The higher the number, the higher the douche.

Paizo Adventure Path - Complete list of these here. Below are the ones I currently own. The following have already been played: Curse of the Crimson Throne, Second Darkness, Legacy of Fire, Kingmaker, Reign of Winter, Skull & Shackles.

Paizo 3.5

Rise of the RunelordGoblin raids on the coastal town of Sandpoint presage a growing danger in the ruin-choked wilderness of Varisia. An ancient evil stirs to waking life in the distant mountains, drawing crazed murderers, inbred ogres, warlike stone giants, and creatures fueled by the power of sin into an epic conflict destined to create a new generation of heroes!

DBNPC: 3

Todd's Take: Paizo's first adventure path featuring classic monsters and a Thassalonian bad guy.

Pazio Pathfinder

Written with the Paizo Pathfinder rules, but we could play it as 3.5 or go Pathfinder.

Council of ThievesOnce the seat of mighty Imperial Cheliax, the decaying metropolis of Westcrown now stands wrecked and ruined, haunted by mysterious shadow beasts and besieged by the agents of the nation's new diabolical rulers. Amid this chaos, a growing schism in the city's influential Council of Thieves threatens to tear Westcrown apart unless a new group of heroes rises from the ashes of empire to chart a new destiny for the lost souls of the city.

DBNPC: ?. It's an evil city, I imagine it would be high.

Todd's Take: Good heroes fight against an evil city. All city campaign.

Serpent's SkullA chance shipwreck in pirate-infested waters sets the heroes on a chase to discover a lost city in the jungles of the treacherous Mwangi Expanse! Factions like the Pathfinder Society and the Red Mantis assassin league are also on the hunt to discover the city's forgotten secrets, terrible revelations that could awaken a sleeping god and bring doom to the world of Golarion!

DBNPC: 7, at the start of the AP at least, there are several NPCs with the party.

Todd's Take: Indian Jones Vs. the Yuan-ti in the jungles.

Carrion CrownThe Cult of the Whispering Way weaves a wide-ranging conspiracy throughout the horror-tinged lands of Ustalav aimed at freeing the Lich King Tar-Baphon, better known as the Whispering Tyrant, from his eternal prison in the dungeon of Gallowspire. Their debased rites and malicious schemes set werewolf against vampire, ghost against terror from beyond time and space in a thrilling campaign that touches upon themes of classic horror and dark swords and sorcery!

DBNPC: 7, you have to ally with some bad guys.

Todd's Take: A horror themed AP.

Jade Regent

When a decades-old secret is exposed, an unassuming local tavern-owner and a close friend of the PCs discovers her birthright is to rule one of the ancient Dragon Empires of Tian Xia—the empire of Minkai. Yet the current ruler of this empire, the mysterious and increasingly cruel Jade Regent, has no intention of giving up his hold over the throne. In order to save Minkai from a would-be tyrant, the PCs must not only escort their friend from Varisia to Tian Xia, braving the frozen horrors of the Crown of the World, but must aid her in gaining the trust and support of a nation on the edge of anarchy.

DBNPC: 4, several NPCs accompany you on this AP but they are supposed to be friendly allies.

Todd's Take: An oriental adventure which is not my thing. Though it sounds like it does start in a standard fantasy setting, might be doable. First half of the campaign is traveling. The Asian lands are the second party of the campaign.

Shattered Star

In Varisia’s bustling frontier city of Magnimar, the Pathfinder Society’s newest lodge recruits a team of rookie Pathfinders to track down rogue agent Natalya Vancaskerkin—who also happens to be one of the Varisian criminals known as the Sczarni. Yet when these heroes track down the missing woman, they find far more than a Pathfinder on the run, becoming embroiled in a swiftly expanding hunt for a fragmented artifact from the ancient empire of Thassilon—a quest that will take them to some of the most dangerous corners of Varisia.

Emerald Spire

Classic mega-dungeon. Might be handy for players dropping in & out.
