Kingdom Turn

A kingdom "turn" is performed once a month. A turn has the following steps:

Upkeep Phase

When the kingdom is first founded, skip this phase.

Perform a Stability Check. If you make the check, reduce Unrest by 1. If unrest is 0, gain 1 BP. If you fail by 5 or more, increase Unrest by 2.

Pay Consumption: Deduct Consumption from the Treasury. If the Treasury is below 0, increase Unrest by 2.

Deal with magic items.

Unrest: If Unrest is 11 or higher, lose one hex of the kingdom.

Improvement Phase

    • Forest: 4 BP, 2 months

    • Grassland: 1 BP, Immediate

    • Hills: 2 BP, 1 Month

    • Mountains: 12 BP, 4 months

    • Swamp: 8 BP, 3 months

    • Desert: 2 BP, 1 Month

Select Leadership: Change or fill leadership positions.

Determine Max Production: The size of your kingdom limits how much building you can accomplish each turn. The maximum BP you can spend a turn is (and you have to have the BP in your treasury obviously):

Claim Hexes: Add hexes to your kingdom. Hexes must be explored, cleared of threats, and be adjacent to already claimed hexes. Claiming a hex costs 1 BP.

Establish Cities: Prepare a hex for a city or add another district to a city. Grasslands cost 1 BP, hills cost 2 BP and take 1 month, Forest is 4BP and takes 2 months, Mountains 12 BP and4 months, Swamp 8BP and 3 months.

Improve Cities: Construct buildings within a district by spending BP. Many buildings are expensive and will require BP investment over a number of turns. Buildings can affect you loyalty, stability, and unrest. See Kingdom Buildings.

Build Roads: Only in hexes you control. 1 BP normally, 2 BP in forests, 4 BP in swamps and mountains. If you are crossing a river, double the cost unless a bridge is present.

Establish Farmlands: Only in grasslands or hills and must have a road first. 2 BP normally, 4 BP if hills. Cannot have a city in a farmland hex. Each farmland hex reduces consumption by 2 BP.

Edicts: Adjust edict levels

Income Phase

Generate Income: Make an Economy Check against the Control DC. If successful, divide the roll by 5, dropping any fractions. This is the BP income for the turn. If unsuccessful, no income this month.

Event Phase

Random shit happens
