TASK 2 AI: Create Background Research Page

Applied Artificial Intelligence

Goal

Before developing your AI project, you must build a strong understanding of your topic through research. The purpose of this task is to help you investigate the problem, learn about existing AI solutions, and gather information that will support your project design.

This page will become the Background Research section of your Google Site and will be reviewed by your teacher

Background Research Requirements

Create a page on your Google Site that includes the following sections:

1. Big Picture

Explain your project topic and why it is important.

Answer the following questions:

• What is your project topic?

• What problem are you trying to solve?

• Why is this problem important?

• Who is affected by this problem?

2. AI Concepts & Project Purpose

Describe how Artificial Intelligence connects to your project.

Include:

• What AI technology or concept relates to your project?

• How could AI help solve the problem?

• A brief description of your proposed AI solution.

Examples of AI concepts:

• Artificial Intelligence

• Machine Learning

• Generative AI

• Computer Vision

• Robotics

• Data Analysis

• Large Language Models (LLMs)

3. Keywords & Vocabulary

Create a list of at least 5 important keywords related to your topic.

For each keyword:

• Write a definition.

• Explain how it connects to your project.

4. Research Questions

Develop 3–5 research questions that will guide your project.

Examples:

• How is AI currently used to solve this problem?

• What data would an AI system need?

• What are the benefits and challenges of using AI?

• How could this AI solution help people?

5. Sources

Include at least 3 reliable sources used during your research.

Examples:

• Educational websites

• Research articles

• Books

• Videos

• Teacher-approved resources

Teacher Review

Submit your Background Research page according to your teacher's instructions.

Your teacher may:

• Review your Google Site page.

• Ask questions about your research.

• Suggest improvements.

• Approve your project direction.

Be sure to save any feedback and research notes for future project tasks.
