Step 4 - Cut out the inside of the photo

To Cut out the Original Photo:

1. Open the original photo for the iPod ad or self-portrait.

2. Use the CROP tool if you want to cut out a part to fill, and not use your whole body. This is under the Marquee tool. Click and drag to create a rectangle, then hit Enter to crop it.

3. Select all the BACKGROUND parts of the photo until you have everything, using magic wand and polygonal lasso.

4. Select Inverse, right click and LAYER via CUT until it is cut out.

5. Follow the directions below.

OR!

1. Take the photo that you ALREADY cut out.

2. Move it into the new workspace.

3. Use the Magic Wand to select the BACKGROUND.

4. Click on LAYER at the menu bar on the top.

5. Click on New Layer.

6. Click on the new layer to make sure it is BLUE and selected.

7. Click on EDIT on the menu bar.

8. Click on FILL - and then COLOR. Choose a color. Then click OK.

9. Right click and deselect.

10. Click on the layer that has your photo in the layer palette. Right-click and DELETE the layer. Now you have a layer with the negative space empty.
