What is Photography?
The goal of this assignment is for you to understand the GENRES or categories in photography: Landscape, Portrait, Action, Product.
Note: Be careful of pictures that are created in a software package like Photoshop in which the image was not just one image but a composite of several. If it doesn’t look real, it probably isn’t. Also do not use illustrations or drawings that look very realistic that are either hand drawn computer generated.
STEP 1
- Log into Google Classroom
- Choose your period and use the class code to join:
- Period 1 - dn8zlu
- Period 2 - gd816o
- Click on the assignment #1 FIVE IMAGES

- Select one photo from the links provided under each of the following categories and drag it into the provided Google Doc. For each image you must write at least 2 things that you like about it.
- Portrait : a picture of a person or animal that was set up to show off the person or animal’s personality.
- Landscape: a picture of the environment not a close-up but a broad view of an environment
- Action : A photograph that shows action such as in sports. This may be stop action or motion blur.
- Abstract : A photograph that does not depict a person, place or thing in the natural world
- Your Choice: A photograph of something that you are interested in.
