Follow the directions for YOUR job in Art Talk:

Art Critic

The research now needs to be written into a short essay for your brochure. As Art Critic, you must introduce your artist’s work to the public, writing an essay about the art: how your artist uses the Elements of Art, the medium and the subject of the art.

Make sure you include ALL of the following!

1. Introduce your artist’s work:

    • Describe the SUBJECT of the art.
    • Describe the MEDIUM that the artist used. If there is more than one, make sure that you include all of the MEDIA.
    • Describe how your artist used the Elements of Art in his/her artwork:
    • When you looked at the images and found the Elements of Art in them, which did you see in all 4 images? Were there some used more than others?
    • Describe these Elements and how they were used in some of the artworks that you will show in the brochure.

Once the essay is written, save it to your H:// Drive. Then use SAVE AS to save it again into your ART TALK folder on the SCOMMON drive.

Introduce your artist, and include the following:

    • Where the artist lived as a child and adult
    • Education
    • Fame as an artist

2. Historical/Cultural facts that are relevant to the artist’s life

Once the essay is written, save it to your H:// Drive. Then use SAVE AS to save it again into your ART TALK folder on the SCOMMON drive.

Step 3 - Use Save As when you are done to save the finished essays to the SCOMMON DRIVE, in the folder you made inside the Art Talk folder. This will allow you to access your work from either computer when putting together the brochure. Make sure that you have a copy on your H: Drive.
